Wages: $30-38 an hour (depending on experience)
Job description:
- Lead and oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality dishes and service standards
- Manage and control butchery operations including breakdown of meat, portion control, aging, storage, and quality assurance
- Design, develop, and update menus that align with brand identity, seasonal produce, and profitability targets
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, building a high-performance team culture
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and compliance with NZ food control plan and health regulations
- Control food costs, minimise wastage, and manage inventory including meat, seafood, and dry goods
- Collaborate with local suppliers and butchers to source premium quality produce and meats
- Ensure efficient kitchen operations including service flow, prep systems, and timely food delivery
- Oversee special events, promotions, and signature dish development (e.g. steak specials, degustation menus)
- Work closely with management to drive profitability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement
